ABOUT ME
I am a mom, wife, daughter, friend, sister, and teacher.
I am an empath and lifelong learner passionate about nature, laughter, audiobooks, and blue skies. I believe deeply in the power of kindness and connection. I think that there is more than one answer to the big questions in life, and that there is always power in asking them. I am a trauma-informed, certified mindfulness and meditation teacher, spiritual life coach, and somatic self-compassion practitioner. Above all, I am a human being that wakes each day doing the work I ask of my clients.
My personal journey with mindfulness began in my early 30s born from a desire to move more authentically through the world around me. Until then, I had been programmed to believe that the answers I was seeking existed somewhere outside of myself. I was a young mom, focused on meeting other people's expectations without boundaries or alignment with my own values. Constantly scurrying to please everyone else, I began to realize that everything I had in my life, all things I thought I had wanted, weren’t actually making me happy. The reality of my expanding discontent could no longer be ignored, and I knew it was time… time to get to know ME, who I was, and what I wanted. And so, the search was on.
I discovered the power of mind-body connection, yoga, psychotherapy, meditation, self-compassion, acceptance and community. Standing on this solid foundation of knowledge, I began to center my life around these ideas. As I gained a new understanding and perspective, I felt the power of the practices of showing up for myself, looking within for answers, and trusting my inner guidance. I began to turn towards rather than away from myself. I began a journey of self-acceptance and ultimately self-love.
Grappling with practices that I absorbed from various books and teachers, I learned to make the teachings my own, looking within and exploring what felt the most supportive for me. Eventually, I touched moments of freedom, moments of knowing I was capable and enough; I was hooked! Ten years into exploring a personal and sacred mindfulness practice for my own growth and healing, I began to devote my professional life to sharing these practices with others.
Over the past 8 years, I have had the privilege of sharing mindfulness, meditation, and self-compassion in individual and group therapeutic settings at both a partial hospitalization program and then in private practice along with supporting therapists on how to most effectively share these practices with their clients. As a multidisciplinary practitioner, my approach to mindfulness and meditation is grounded in ancient, time-tested teachings while integrating current scientific research and emphasizing a practical application for modern-day life. I believe strongly in the universal power of this work.
My intention is to share these practices in a way that is accessible to all, creating a brave and supportive environment for people to get to know themselves, their patterning, and the power of the present moment.
This is who I am.
This is my life’s work.
